What is this device?

This device is an add-on for the GalaxyVend core board that allows any MDB peripheral to be connected to a pulse-operated vending machine. This applies not only to legacy machines but also to self-service systems, kiddie rides, and other pulse-based equipment. It even enables the connection of MDB credit card readers; by utilizing up to eight physical buttons, it can expand card payment options to eight distinct price points.

The key elements of GalaxyVend pulse out board

  1. Inputs for up to 8 physical N/O buttons: Allows customers to select the exact value they wish to charge to their credit card for the vending machine.
  2. 10-pin output interface: Fully compatible with the standard 10-pin parallel interface (e.g., compatible with the Comestero RM5 coin acceptor).
  3. 16-pin interface: Compatible with Innovative Technology bill validators (e.g., NV9, NV10, BV20, BV30, etc.).
  4. USB Configuration: Using the dedicated configuration app over USB, users can easily adjust settings such as prices, pulse counts per price, pulse length, and inter-pulse pauses.
  5. Dual-Channel Reporting: The interface can be configured to send cash and cashless (card) payments on different channels. This allows for seamless integration with telemetry systems and vending cash registers operating in parallel/pulse mode.
  6. Closed-Loop Capability: Attaching this device to the core board enables its use as a closed-loop cashless device, fully integrated with our SaaS backend.

GalaxyVend pulse out possible applications

  1. The primary application is to convert MDB credit card readers to pulse mode, supporting multiple values (prices) for card payment authorization.
  2. Adding this expansion board to the GalaxyVend core board (paired with the appropriate firmware) provides an instant conversion for any MDB payment system—specifically credit card readers—into pulse mode. This allows you to connect MDB payment systems to a wide variety of hardware, ranging from legacy vending machines to PLC or microcontroller-based custom systems (such as self-service car washes, kiddie rides, and access control systems).
Configuration is simple: use our free software to set your desired prices, pulse count, and pulse characteristics (including pulse length and inter-pulse pause length). Additionally, this setup provides access to a wide range of MDB telemetry systems and the digital cash registers required by law in certain countries.
For advanced users, our SaaS backend (connected via WiFi) allows you to send and receive data. This enables you to build custom telemetry or remote payment systems, control MDB hardware, and trigger pulses remotely.
  3. Integrating an RFID reader transforms the device into a closed-loop payment system, utilizing our SaaS backend to manage and store customer balances.
