What is this device?

The GalaxyVend core board, when paired with specific firmware, allows you to integrate MDB payment systems into your vending projects. It supports one MDB coin acceptor (including coin changers for dispensing change), one MDB bill validator (including bill recyclers), and up to two MDB cashless devices, such as credit card readers.
By connecting via USB or MQTT to an Android tablet, Raspberry Pi, or mini PC, you can add robust MDB support to your projects quickly and efficiently.

  1. Power Flexibility
    • The device can be powered via 24VAC, providing the necessary voltage for MDB peripherals.
    • It also supports a 24V to 36VDC input range with polarity insensitivity for easier installation.
  2. Versatile connectivity (USB or MQTT): connect to your host device via USB or MQTT (widely supported by all major programming languages). To connect via MQTT, use our SaaS backend, which translates the device’s protocol into simple JSON messages. The backend also supports MQTT over WebSockets.
  3. Low-Level abstraction: our device handles the "heavy lifting" of low-level MDB communication. It abstracts complex data into clean string messages (USB) or structured JSON (MQTT via SaaS).
  4. Simplified command set: simple commands allow you to selectively activate MDB payment systems to accept cash or cashless (credit card) payments. Transaction data is returned in a clean, intuitive format.
  5. Efficiency and speed: save time by bypassing the complex and critical aspects of the MDB protocol (such as strict communication timings and 9-bit parity). You only need to manage the transaction logic to add MDB support to your vending projects.
  6. Dual MDB connectors climinate the need for "Y" splitters or complex cabling; our device features two onboard MDB connectors.
  7. Integrated USB-serial bridge: no external USB-to-serial converters are required, as the device includes a built-in USB-to-serial bridge.
